Prayer Focus: Crucifying the Flesh

The sacrifice Jesus made on the cross was all-sufficient. However, there may be times when we behave like it was not. When we give way to our flesh, we are allowing it to dictate our actions. As a result, we practice behavior that is contrary to the Word of God. We should allow God to not only show us those areas, but we must also choose to put these temptations of the flesh to death permanently.

Galatians 5:16 (NLT) - So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.

1 Corinthians 9:27 (NLT) - I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.

1 Peter 4:1 (TPT) - Since Christ, though innocent, suffered in His flesh for you, now you must be a prepared soldier, having the same mind-set, for whoever has died in his body is done with sin.

Prayer

Father, I submit every area of my life to You. Show me the areas of my life that displease You. I choose to let them go and embrace Your ways instead. Not my will but Your will be done in my life. Help me to die to my flesh daily. I will fill my heart with Your word so I am strengthened to kill my fleshly desires. Help me to live my life intimately joined to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer Focus: Decree & Declare - The Power of Your Mouth

Much of what we are waiting on God to do is locked up in our tongues, waiting for us to speak them into the earth. Our decrees have power. Reading the Word aloud increases your faith as you hear it. Open your mouth so you can hear yourself saying what God said. Faith comes by hearing. Claim what rightfully belongs to you by agreeing with the Word and saying what God has said about you until you see it manifest.

Job 22:28 (AMPC) - You shall also decide and decree a thing, and it shall be established for you; and the light [of God’s favor] shall shine upon your ways.

Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV) - Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Isaiah 55:11 (NKJV) - So shall My word be that goes forth  from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Prayer

Father, You said I should decree a thing, that I should put You in remembrance and use my tongue for Your glory. I am to use my words to accomplish Your work in my life and in the lives of others. Forgive me for any passivity I’ve had in speaking Your word. I choose to be proactive with what You are saying in this hour. I am the head and not the tail.  I am more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus. You have set before me an OPEN DOOR. I choose to go through it and become a force for the kingdom. Use me Lord in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer Focus: Basking in the Glory of God

As we seek the presence of God, we expose ourselves to the glory of God. Everything within us changes when we bask in the glory of His presence. When we meet with the Father in our secret place, the atmosphere of heaven surrounds and changes us from glory to glory.

2 Corinthians 3:18 (ESV) - And we all with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

Exodus 24:18 (NLT) - Then Moses disappeared into the cloud as he climbed higher up the mountain. He remained on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

Prayer

Father, I desire to spend more time in Your presence. It is in Your presence that I receive hope, peace, joy, and strategies from heaven. I earnestly desire You.  Fill me again with a fresh fire and a new zeal for the things of God.  Show me Your GLORY Lord, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer Focus: Aggressive Pursuit

Isaiah 62:7 (NLT) - Give the LORD no rest until He completes His work, until He makes Jerusalem [you] the pride of the earth.

Matthew 6:33 (CEV) - But more than anything else, put God’s work first and do what He wants. Then the other things will be yours as well.

Matthew 11:12 (ESV) - From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.

Prayer

Lord, I stand firm in a state of fervent pursuit, chasing after all that You have in store for me. I am ready to go hard after Your presence. I desire You, Father; my heart hungers and thirsts after You. Help me diligently seek after your presence. I choose to shut the door of distraction and go into the secret place until YOU show up and your will is revealed. Thank You Lord for Your presence, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer Focus: Discernment

According to Webster’s dictionary, discernment empowers one to see what is not evident to the average person. When using discernment, your insight, wisdom, and all of your senses, are heightened. We have to be able to discern what is of God and what is not; this is necessary in the Kingdom of God.

Philippians 1:9 (TPT) - I continue to pray for your love to grow and increase beyond measure, bringing you into the rich revelation of spiritual insight in all things.

1 Corinthians 2:14 (NIV) - The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.

John 7:24 (NLT) - Look beneath the surface so you can judge correctly.

Prayer

Lord, Let Your Holy Spirit be in full operation on the inside of me so I am able to discern accurately and avoid deception. Your word is a lamp unto my feet and it lights my path. Let me see through all false appearances so that Your truth can be made clear. Allow me to see in the realm of the Spirit concerning any matter or person with spiritual 20/20 vision. Thank You Father, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer Focus: God’s Abundant Grace

John 1:16 (AMP) - For out of His fullness [the superabundance of His grace and truth] we have all received grace upon grace [spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, favor upon favor, and gift heaped upon gift].

2 Corinthians 12:9 (AMP) - but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough–always available–regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.”

Prayer

Father, thank You for Your grace. Your grace truly is sufficient for me.  Your grace strengthens me, it empowers me, and it keeps me. I have all that I need to fulfill my assignment in the earth realm because You have predestined my life and the works I am yet to fulfill. I choose to not strive but labor in grace like the apostle Paul. Do great things through me, as your servant, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer Focus: Offering Thanks & Praises to God

For some, God will have answered many of your prayer requests throughout this fast. Praise Him for showing up and answering your prayers. Put a praise demand on what you are still waiting to see manifested. Thank Him for each item on your list that is still unanswered, as though you have already received it. God is faithful!  He will do just what He said He will do. Keep trusting Him for it and watch Him work on your behalf.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (AMP) Rejoice always and delight in your faith; be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.

Psalms 107:8-9 (NIV) - Let them give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for mankind, for He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

Psalms 95:1-3 (AMP) - O come, let us sing joyfully to the LORD; Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with a song of thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with songs. For the LORD is a great God and a great King above all gods….

Prayer Tip

Praise today like no one is watching! Hallelujah to our KING!
