This is a Focused Fast to Seek God more diligently. Why do we fast? According to scripture, even faith will require us to do something more than just believe. Fasting is the act of putting our faith to work. Fasting is also a key to what we are believing God for, and puts a focus on seeking God.
John 4:34 (NIV) “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work.”
Encouragement
Determine your prayer time and space. It is important to not leave this to chance. Set aside a specific time to pray over your objectives and the focus of the day. You can wake up a little earlier and go into your prayer space in your home. Pray at lunchtime, pray in your car. Set something that you will definitely do, to give time and attention to what you are believing God for AND giving God time to speak back to you.
Focus on quality over quantity. It is not how long you pray; it is the sincerity of the heart that brings petitions before the Father. Stretch yourself to increase your time in prayer, but don’t beat yourself up if your time commitment is not the same as someone else's. Come to Corporate Prayer on Saturday mornings. Commit to attending as many Wednesday & Sunday services during the fast as you can to hear the Word of God; see them as appointments with the Father. Go looking for what He has for you, consecration yourself & seek God for the next 21 days.
A Prayer For You
Lord, thank You for the privilege of prayer and fasting as a way to set us apart to connect with You in a deeper way. You said if I seek You diligently with all my heart, I would find You. Help me to seek you in 2024 like never before so my relationship with You grows and I see a side of you I have never seen before.
